Thakur VIKRAM SINGH, present Thakur Saheb of Chandawal since 1969. Double Tazimi, Second Class Noble of Jodhpur, he succeeded by adoption.


Founder of the family was Rao Ishwar Das, son of Rao Kumpa of Marwar, who was granted the estate of Harsor. The estate of Chandawal consisted of 8 villages in pargana Sojat with a revenue of Rs. 20,000.


  • Thakur CHAND SINGH, Thakur of Harsor and of Chandawal, succeeded in Harsor in 1562 and established Chandawal village; he was confirmed in his possession of Chandawal and Harsor in 1595 by Maharaja Soor Singh of Marwar; married and had issue, eight sons.

  • Thakur GORDHAN DAS, Thakur of Chandawal -/1658, married and had issue, eight sons. He died  in the Battle of Dharmat.

  • Thakur BISHAN SINGH, Thakur of Chandawal 1794/1824, he rebelled against Maharaja Man Singh of Marwar in 1820, and the estate was confiscated and he fled, living outside of Jodhpur till he died ; he had appealed to the British authorities to intervene, but died shortly afterwards; married and had adoptive issue. He died sp 1824 in Lasani.
