(Surya Bagh Palace, Visakhapatnam, Madras, India) married 1984, Rani Prabha Devi, born , daughter of Raja Prabodh Chandra Dhir Deb, Raja Saheb of Balarampur, and his wife, Rani Jogmaya Devi, and has issue, two sons.

history

The state was founded in the 15th century by a younger son of Raja Narayan Bhanj Deo of Baudh. The Raja maintains a force of 343 infantry and 8 guns (in 1893).

    • Pattayet Bijoy Chandra Deo Bhanj, born , educated at Rajkumar College, Raipur (now in Chhatisgarh), at A.V.N. College, Vishakhapatnam and at Ravenshaw College, Cuttack; he was a Research scholar of Delhi University in History under Late Bishweswar Prasad and Dr. Amba Prasad, he took part in Riding, Swimming, Football, Hockey, Tennis and other games while at school and college and was also a keen debater; he worked for companies like Hyderabad Allwyn and French Motor Car Co. Ltd at Calcutta from 1962 to 1988 in different capacities in the Sales Department and also did liaison and Public Relations for the companies; after retirement, he lived at his Bapuji Nagar residence in Bhubaneswar and devoted time to his farm at Daspalla and to his various activities and social interests; he travelled extensively all over India in connection with social activities and Historical research; his interests included a study of Vedanta, English and Oriya literature, classical music, Drama, Photography and Travelling, he was a Member of many Societies and Associations, including, Life Member, Asiatic Society, Calcutta; Life Member, Alliance Francaise, Calcutta; Member of the Institute of Historical Studies, Calcutta; Life Member of Indian History Congress; Member of Calcutta Historical Society; Member of Calcutta Management Association since 1973; Founder and Executive Committee Member of Kala Sangam, Calcutta; President, ARKACIANS (old boys of Rajkumar College residing at Calcutta); Free Mason; Life Member, Orissa State Concil of Child Welfare; Life Member, Viswa Orissa Sammilani, Cuttack; Life Member of Red Cross Society, Orissa; Life Member, Chinmaya Mission, Calcutta; Life Member of Bhubaneswar Club; Life Member of Mythic Society, Bangalore; Member of World Wild Life Fund for Nature W.W.F. (Lok Sabha) 1962/1967, M.L.A. (Orissa) 1957/1961; Member of Waltair club, Bhubaneswar club, Vizag camera club, Diners club and Chelmsford club; interests and pastimes were Still Photography, Cine Photography, Big game hunting, Philately, Numismatics and also Reading, Writing short Oriya poems, horse riding and travelling; married 1949, Rani Kamala Devi, daughter of Sri Sri Sri Vyricharla Narayana Gajapathi Raju Bahadur Garu of Chemudu, and his wife, Rani Chandramani Devi, and had issue, one son and two daughters. He died  at Visakhapatnam.
