Former member of Indian History Congress, Former member of Foundation for Advanced Management of Election (FAME), Member of Indian National Congress (INC).

Kunwar Harsh Vardhan Singh, born 9^th November 1999, educated at University of Allahabad.

Short History

Kohra Talukdari belongs to the Kachwaha Rajputs, one of the Chathis Rajkula. They are descended from Kush, one of the twin sons of Rama and Sita. The Royal Family of Kohra is descended from Raja Sodh Dev of Dausa 966/1006, who migrated from Narwargarh. Raja Sodh Dev was the son of Raja Ishwar Das of Gwalior, a descendant of Raja Nal of Ajodhya. Founded in the 17^th century. The founder of the family was Babu Himmat Shah, a younger son of Raja Bikram Shah of Amethi.

GENEALOGY

Babu HIMMAT SHAH, Babu of Kohra 1636, he founded Kohra Estate on the day of Ganga Dussehra in 1636. He was the younger son of Raja Bikram Shah of Amethi.

Babu BHOOP SINGH, Babu of Kohra 1840/1890, born 1820; he was leader in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and led a rebellion against the British forces in 1857. He was involved in the War of Awadh and siege of Lucknow residency and to stop Colonel Wroughton, he fought battles at Chanda, Amhat and Kadunala in Sultanpur district, married and had issue. He died after 1890.

Babu SHIV BAHADUR SINGH, Babu of Kohra 1944/1993, born 1923; educated at Uday Pratap College, he participated in the class boycott of Uday Pratap College, Varanasi in Quit India Movement of 1942 and later donated two of his villages in Bhoodan Movement, married Vanshraj Kunwari and had issues. He died in 1993.

Babu UMANATH SINGH, Babu of Kohra 1993/2017, born 1936; educated at Uday Pratap College (Varanasi), Banaras Hindu University, University of Gorakhpur, Former Professor of Avadh University, he was the founder member of Uttar Pradesh History Congress, married Draupadi Kunwari, died in 21^st July 2015, daughter of Thakur Sitaram Singh of Jaunpur, a great Freedom fighter and had issues. He died on 20^th May 2017.
